As with women, the life of a female, whether she is a cat, dog or mare, is not a long, quiet river!
If human females take care of themselves, our animal females rely on our support to take care of them, both in terms of comfort of life, health and well-being throughout their lives. And everyone knows that the life of a female is far from peaceful.
At the cat's
In general, the first heat of the cat occurs around the age of 7 to 9 months and coincides with the increase in sunshine. But it also follows a seasonal rhythm: two or three cycles in the spring (around March-April), then again in the summer (June-July). Occasionally, a third period occurs in the fall. Each heat period lasts about three weeks during which the female is fertile for 6 to 10 days.
This is why the female cat is considered a seasonal polyestrian (several periods of heat with a few days of respite). During the heat period, the female cat is even more cuddly, rubbing herself on the legs of tables or chairs and on your legs.
She may roll on the ground, raise her behind, show signs of nervousness and impatience, refuse to eat and even urinate on the ground. At her worst, she will no longer want to sleep and will meow in despair to attract the male who will come to deliver her (and us with her!). Indeed, female cats only ovulate after mating. This explains the return of heat after a short period of rest. Mating is the only solution to put an end to this "torment".
In the female dog
The female dog has a sexual cycle called monoestrous, that is to say that she has one or two ovulatory cycles per year, separated by relatively long sexual rest intervals of about six months. So it's cooler than in cats!!
The famous heat is divided into two phases: proestrus and estrus. The first phase, proestrus, lasts between 7 and 11 days. During this period, the vulva becomes edematous (swollen) and there is more or less abundant bloody vulvar discharge. At this time, even if the females show great interest, they resist the advance of the males.
The second phase, estrus, lasts about 8 to 10 days. It is during this period that mating occurs, because the females are then receptive. To determine when ovulation is most conducive to mating, you should know that the first day of heat corresponds to the first day of bleeding. Thus, it is easy to determine that ovulation occurs on average around the 13th day, with a gap of plus or minus two days.
At the mare's
In breeding, the reproduction of the horse depends essentially on the sexual cycle of the mare which lasts from 21 to 23 days, the mature stallion being naturally always active.
Mares experience their first heat and become fertile from the age of 2. But in breeding, they are not presented to a breeding stallion before the age of 3. The sexual cycle of the mare is decisive in the reproduction of the horse. It is necessary to be able to detect its ovulation period to have a good chance of obtaining a foal. For this operation, veterinary advice and monitoring are often necessary.
Gestation
It is a period during which the offspring develops inside the body of the future mother in a specialized matrix (eg uterus), beginning with the implantation of the egg and ending with parturition (birth or delivery).
The gestation period for a female cat and a female dog is approximately 9 weeks, and for a mare, 11 months.
Pregnancy is a physiological state that can be complicated by various factors:
- infectious diseases;
- physiological disorders related to pregnancy (such as: gestational diabetes);
- physiological problems related to the mother's health, etc.
The outcome of a complicated pregnancy can:
- result in miscarriage;
- cause health problems for unborn offspring, sometimes fatal;
- possibly serious complications for the mother
It is therefore essential to limit the risk factors to allow a smooth gestation and delivery and it is with this objective that HoliGest appears in our HOLI - SUPER MAMA KIT .
This kit contains 3 bottles:
On paper, this whole breeding period may seem endearing, but, and human females know this, it is not always easy to live through!
Hormonal challenges are numerous, both physically: difficult births with hemorrhages, anemia, lactation problems, weakness, loss of libido, tumors, low fertility, fatigue, etc.; and psychologically: postpartum depression, refusal of the male, abandonment of the young, etc.
It is therefore essential to support females throughout their life as “mothers” and HoliFem was created for that!
But to further support our females, we know that the assimilation of nutrients is essential throughout their lives to develop and maintain the osteo-muscular system, particularly in females intended for reproduction.
Pregnancy, birth and raising young require a lot of energy and can weaken the immune system. The disease is opportunistic, it finds a host where the immune system is weakened. It is therefore advisable to support this energy by supplementing the diet with mineral salts because they intervene in a wide range of functions, among others: muscular, hormonal, nervous and immune systems. This is why it is recommended to use HoliMin to speed up convalescence and especially in this case, to remineralize mother whose minerals are mainly used to feed babies.
THE HOLI SUPER MAMA KIT includes 3 bottles of 30 ml:
HoliGest: For optimal gestation.
HoliFem: For hormonal balance.
HoliMin: For better assimilation of minerals and nutrients which allow better recovery.
