Ah! Old age in my dog, my cat... 

White hairs appearing on the coat, difficulty keeping up during walks, or even longer naps than usual... these could well be signs that your pet is getting older. Old age is an inevitable part of life that we all dread and experience more or less well. Our four-legged friends face it just as much as we do and are also affected by the effects of time. 

At what age are my cat, dog or horse considered old? 

To rely on averages, we say that a dog enters the third age around 10 years, although this age will depend on the breed and size of the animal. Indeed, large dogs have a slower development but nevertheless have a shorter life expectancy than small dogs. The cat, meanwhile, enters this age around 8-9 years, but the effects of aging are often felt around 12-13 years. As for the horse, it is around 20 years that it reaches the third age.
